If you do it accidently then there is always chances to undo and redo your activities. To make sure about your previous good condition, you can jump to design mode from code mode before undo your process.

But if you develop a plain website, no one returns to visit your site. That is why you need visual appeal and some cool java scripts menu to navigate back and forward and all arranged under cells and table. These all process produces more codes than your actual content. Now when search engine visits your WebPages, it goes through your code, scans for it and leave it after some time. If you have large page, it leaves to scan after sometime. You might miss the main content to be scanned diluted on heavy codes produced by web design software.

My final suggestion to structure webpage is to break large on multiple pages.
